In a bold and unflinching interview on Channels Television, Labour Party’s presidential hopeful, Mr. Peter Obi, issued a direct challenge to his critics , -vowing to step down from the 2027 race if anyone can prove he ever stole public or private funds.
When pressed by journalist Seun Okinbaloye on allegations that his political coalition is being described as a “criminal gang,” Obi responded firmly:
“I am not a criminal. My life,-both public and private, -is an open book. I served as Governor of Anambra State for eight years without taking a single kobo that didn’t belong to me. Even in my years in corporate and private business, my records are clean and accessible. If anyone can show evidence that I stole money at any point, I will withdraw from the 2027 presidential election immediately.”
This strong statement is likely to resonate deeply with many Nigerians who see transparency and integrity as key issues ahead of the next general election.
📌 A daring and confident stance by Mr. Peter Obi. The question now is: will anyone dare to take up that challenge?
