Fashion Show 

Before I begin talk about fashion and about how I feel say fashion go be in d future, make I let ona know say, fashion no b today mata o. Fashion dey as old as wen our creator JEHOVAH create us.

Though dat time may be dem no give am name, but e get two story wey dey for  record, wey dey talk about d history of fashion.

One na for ancient Rome and ancient Egypt. As dem record am, dem say dat time na only rich pipul dey wear am. E dey dey very colorful, very stylish, and e dey fine well well. most times na garment e dey be.

D poor pipul own also dey dat time, but e no dey fine, d colors na neutral, and e cheap. S only desame thing for d rich n poor fashion na say na garment everybody dey wear.

D second one wey pipul dey talk more about na d English fashion designer wey hin name na CHARLES FREDRICK. Him reign during the 19th and 20th century, and bring fashion designing to light in 1826 till 1895. Him fashion house name dat time na “House of Worth”.

Different pipul see fashion differently, and dey define and differently too. But for me, fashion na d style of clothes  and accessories wey man and woman dey wear at anytime.

A lot of pipul now don take fashion to another level wey dey make pipul dey either condem am, or appreciate am. For those wey dey condem, dem dey mostly use d word ‘Indecent dressing’.

For me, I go see dressing indecent if you no wear d dress for d appropriate occasion. I no talk say indecent dressing no dey sha, because e dey. Example na  d ones wey dey naked, or dey sag in d name of fashion.

Pipul go see short dresses, dat is d one wey dey like 3inches after your hip, as indecent, but if u wear am for show or for performance, for me e no dey indecent.

To say d truth, dis fashion mata big. So, d way e dey go, for d future,  I see say  persons go dey create dia own styles.

Branding go b everybody mata. E no go b about trending again, na wetin I want and dey comfortable with. Na im make I tag d future fashion as “I don’t care fashion”.

In order for us to understand how different pipul see fashion, I take style ask  my Facebook friends question on fashion.  Wetin follow na dis answer dem. Mek ona try read am with joy:

Dem say fashion na d latest style or popular style, especially wen e get to do with dressing.

For me, fashion na d way wey u wan look, wey pipul go appreciate u. For me, I rather do style dan fashion, because fashion go come, and e go go, but style define who you be.

But now, d latest style na recycling: na old tins wey don happen before. So,  whatever trend wey dey now e go still change, and wen e change, e no go change to wetin never happen before.

So, for tomorrow, anytin wey go come now na still wetin don come before. Dem go just twite am small. Notin new.  Me,p I go stick more to style than fashion bcos if Dem say na dis one dey reign I no how to Twite am to suit me, from der  e go bcome my style inside that fashion wey dey reign.

So, for d future, e go just get small twit to wetin don reign before. Na so me I see am.

Fashion na anytin wey make you happy. Sometime too, e dey make dey oda pipul happy.

Fashion no dey go finish, e dey go, dey come. Today fashion good for dis young generation, but no too dey acceptable by everybody. Dem dey naked too much and e no too good.

Wetin I go want fashion to be be say, mek dem share fashion, get d one for different occasion like night and day party, Church, market,  school, for house, etc.

No wear wetin dem make for night for day, no wear party cloth for church, etc.

Fashion na way of life of pipul. D tin wey dem dey put on wey dem dey tink say mek dem look beautiful. Wetin dey for fashion be say, e dey come and go.

Wetin I mean be say, wetin dem wear for 1980 fit come back again in 2023. E fit come same way or e go get little change. For instance, mini skirt don reign in d 40s, 60s and in d 90s. Some fashion na Oyibo influence am and many na our people create am.

In naija, we get so many fashion designers wey sabi wetin dem dey do.  For fashion sef, we get d one for children, for youths and for adults. Na so fashion designers dey do am make everyone dey carried along.

D fashion today dey ok and person fit still see d influence of Micheal Jackson in wetin men dey wear today. Dat one show say him be man wey sabi wen him dey alive.

Men still dey wear wetin dem dey call jump up and pencil trousers. Again men don dey use African Ankara dey sow shirt or jumpers. Dem dey use d jumpers wear jeans, women too follow.

In d future, I dey see say many of our pipul go dey make use of African fabrics for fashion because e dey fit. Pipul now want to dey go back to dia roots in terms of fashion and me I tink say dat one good.

E no too good to dey copy Oyibo tins all d time. We sef need to promote wetin be our own so dat we go dey encourage our fashion designers to do more. As we dey patronize dem, we dey encourage employment and dem go dey train odas too.

If our fashion designers continue to showcase our indigenous fashion, Oyibo people sef fit begin wear am and if dat happens, na him be say our fashion industry go begin do wetin our music industry dey do now.

Fashion na lifestyle for me: d type of shoe, clothes, hair, and so on, wey we take dey cover body na im make am lifestyle.

I see am as I talk earlier say na lifestyle, but e depend on d person wey dey involved.

My expectations na explosion, like wow! Because wetin d future hold, we never see am dey come.

For our mind, fashion don already take d world by storm, but we never see weytin dey come. I no dey talk or mean in d negative- o, like those ones wey like nakedness. No.

I mean, in d real sense of fashion, d future no sabi  wetin be designers get in store.

Fashion na how I want to express who I be.  Dat is, my personality through d way I dey wear my clothes, do my hairstyle, and oda tins for my outward appearance to look fine, according to where I dey go and how I feel for myself.

I no dey follow-follow fashion of na wetin dey reign. I get my own unique fashion sense.

Fashion of today as I see am na still how e dey since. Majority dey copy style. And, today fashion dey more creative compared to olden days of 90s, 80s, 70s and backwards.

Nowadays, women feel say to expose too much flesh na him be fashion but I disagree, although Everyman for him own taste.

My expectations for the future?

Fashion na sometin wey dey change from time to time. So, any new idea for still come up for future as society, cultures, traditions and religion go accept am.

How I see fashion of today.. d ogbonge fashion of today na those ones wey dey easy to wear but go still look like say you sweat before you gather dem join.

Expectations for future.. fashion experts dem don come out say for future, dem go begin make clothes and shoes because of health. Dis Corona wey come go don open dia eyes wey make dem say we go soon begin wear clothes wey go make our skin better and yama yama disease no go catch us.

For future, fashion experts don join mouth talk say, dem go begin put eye for second hand market.. dat one mean say dem go begin re-do and resell old clothes and designs. Those ones wey oyibo dey call vintage, dem go start to sell dem again.

Fashion na d way wey anybody wan look like wen im dress finish. E fit be im cloth style, hair style, body color, finger nail, body shape or how d person dey waka pass.

For me, as a person, fashion today dey run very fast. D style of today fit nor make sense tomorrow. Fashion suppose to be ideological, meaning say na d person or group suppose get im style. For example, individual person style, like me or you.

Cultural style, like for example, Igbo style, Hausa style,  Urhobo style or Yoruba style. Religious styles like church people, Muslim people or like our traditional igbe worshippers. But nowadays, many people dey copy anoda style wey dem see come like am. Some good and some no good at all.

For d future, especially because of computer age, many pipul dey copy any tin wey dem see for internet or television. D one wey l dey fear now nah show body finish fashion. Onto say pipul, especially, women dem dey show wetin God hide for dem body. Dat one no good at all.
